Ok, it's been way to long since I wrote something and a catch-up is hardly possible...
However, working and living here in the arctic circle on the Husky Farm is still amazing and besides all the dogs, I have met a lot of really nice people. I have been for some really nice hikes and I think I am now at a stage where I am really useful on the Husky Farm. I got to train new arrivals and will look after the Farm in Valimaa tomorrow on my own.
This is my Valimaa buddy...
It's starting to get cold again and we are close to freezing temperatures at night. I won't get to see a lot of snow, though, as I am heading back to Germany on 03.09 from Helsinki, unfortunately. Will be back to normal, everyday to day life soon. The following are a few pictures just to give some brief impression of what kind of things I have been up to.
Camping in a shelter, near to the Farm in Hetta.
Canuing over the lake where the dogs run in Winter.
Hiking and then eating up top, very typical German, with sausages and beer ;-).
I still have a few hikes planned and a lot more impressions to capture with the GoPro. I will again try to post some more, including some videos and I will definitely give a good heads-up for Guides that have left already, to get a glimpse of the dogs, etc. before I leave.
Also greetings and a big thank you to Tim, a friend from Hamburg, who had visited me. It was great having you here and I bet it was a great experience and chance to see and do something different.
It's late and I have an early morning tomorrow...so do stay tuned and I will try to be more persistent with the blog, pictures and videos, as promised to some Guides who have already returned home.
g'night
